Suspect in Cambridge Train Stabbing Demands Police to “Kill” Him
A mass stabbing incident on a train near Cambridge on November 2, 2025, left one victim in critical condition and others hospitalized. The suspect, a 32-year-old black British national, reportedly demanded that police “kill” him before being tasered and apprehended. Footage of the encounter has surfaced on social media, showing armed officers responding to the scene.
According to the British Transport Police (BTP), the suspect is currently the only individual being treated as a suspect in the case. A 35-year-old man who was initially arrested at the scene has since been released after investigators confirmed he was not involved in the attack.
The police reported that ten individuals were injured during the incident, with one person, the train driver identified as Andrew Johnson, remaining in life-threatening condition. Johnson attempted to intervene during the attack, and police described his actions as “heroic,” stating he “undoubtedly saved many people’s lives.”
The attack occurred shortly after the suspect boarded the train at Peterborough, where he resides. A knife was recovered from the scene, but further details regarding the suspect’s identity have not been disclosed.
A video taken by a taxi driver present at the scene captured the moment police tasered the suspect, who was reportedly shouting for them to “kill” him just before his arrest.
While the Counter Terrorism Policing initially joined the investigation, the BTP has stated that there is currently no indication that the incident is linked to terrorism.
The aftermath of the stabbing has prompted discussions about safety on public transport, as witnesses and authorities assess the impact of the attack on the community. Five victims have since been released from the hospital, while efforts continue to provide support for those affected by this violent incident.
