Notorious Organ Trafficker Boris Wolfman Detained in Moscow
A significant breakthrough in international law enforcement occurred this week when Boris Wolfman, a notorious organ trafficker, was detained at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport. This arrest resulted from a coordinated operation involving Interpol and Russian law enforcement agencies. Wolfman, a dual citizen of Ukraine and Israel, faces serious charges linked to a transnational organ trafficking network that spanned from Costa Rica to Kosovo.
Wolfman, 40, was reportedly deported from Turkey before his arrest. He is accused of supplying human body parts to an underground clinic in Pristina, where he allegedly facilitated the illegal sale of organs. This operation allowed clients from countries such as the United States, Canada, Germany, and Israel to bypass waiting lists for vital transplants, often paying as much as £150,000 for a healthy kidney.
According to Major-General Irina Volk of the Russian Interior Ministry, Wolfman was wanted for charges related to human trafficking and intentionally causing grievous bodily harm. Investigators claim that between 2006 and 2008, he was part of a group that exploited vulnerable individuals, persuading them to travel to Kosovo for kidney removal operations in exchange for money. Unfortunately, these illegal procedures resulted in severe injuries to the donors involved.
Wolfman has consistently denied any wrongdoing, claiming that he was not involved in organ trafficking but rather conducted legitimate business transactions. His previous ventures included exporting canola oil and citrus fruits from Turkish producers to Israeli markets. Despite his claims, law enforcement continues to scrutinize his operations closely.
The arrest marks the culmination of a nearly two-decade investigation into Wolfman’s activities. This week’s detention was part of a broader international search that highlighted the ongoing collaboration between Russian authorities and their foreign counterparts. As stated by Major-General Volk, “Through cooperation with foreign partners via Interpol channels, his whereabouts were established in Turkey.”
Wolfman’s flamboyant lifestyle, characterized by international travel and high-profile connections, has raised eyebrows for years. He has been previously detained in Turkey and Albania on similar charges, as well as in Israel. Law enforcement documents describe him as “self-confident” and possessing “piercing blue eyes,” with a distinctive tattoo on his right shoulder.
As the investigation continues, authorities are exploring the full extent of Wolfman’s operations and the network of individuals involved in his illicit activities. The implications of this case extend beyond borders, emphasizing the need for global cooperation in combating human trafficking and organ trade.
