West Midlands Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Wolverhampton as Duaine Mills, aged 28. The incident occurred on September 19, 2023, shortly after 3:10 a.m. in the Whitmore Reans area, specifically on Leicester Street. Alongside this announcement, police are actively searching for Mohammed Maneer Khan, a 38-year-old man known as Manny, in connection with the murder.

Authorities have released CCTV footage of Khan taken 12 hours prior to the shooting. The police strongly advise the public not to approach him but to contact emergency services if he is spotted. Khan is known to have ties to the Wolverhampton area and is considered a key figure in the ongoing investigation.

At the scene, Mills was pronounced dead, and a second man in his 30s was transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition. In a statement, a representative of West Midlands Police confirmed the details of the incident, saying, “We were called to Leicester Street… to reports of shots being fired.” The spokesperson highlighted the urgency of the investigation, stating that they had made several attempts to locate Khan and are now appealing for public assistance.

Senior Investigating Officer Jenny Birch from the homicide team emphasized the department’s commitment to resolving the case. She noted, “We’ve been working around the clock since Friday’s shooting to establish what happened and who was responsible.” Birch further mentioned the profound impact of Mills’ murder on his family, expressing determination to secure justice for them.
