Rasmus Hojlund Shines on Napoli Debut After Manchester United Loan

Rasmus Hojlund made an impressive start to his loan spell at Napoli, scoring just 14 minutes into his debut against Fiorentina. The young striker, who joined Napoli on loan from Manchester United for the remainder of the season, has been seeking a fresh start after a challenging period at Old Trafford.

In the 2023 season, Hojlund struggled to find his footing following a high-profile transfer from Atalanta, which cost Manchester United £72 million. During his time at United, he recorded a total of 26 goals across 95 appearances in all competitions. Hojlund wasted no time in making his mark at Napoli. During the match against Fiorentina, he followed an opening goal from former Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne by scoring Napoli’s second goal shortly after kick-off. He skillfully navigated through the Fiorentina defense, receiving a precise pass from Leonardo Spinazzola before finishing with a shot that struck the inside of the post.

In his first interview since leaving Manchester United, Hojlund expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Serie A champions. “I’m very excited, because it’s a team that just won the league,” he stated. He highlighted the passion of the Napoli fans and the vibrant atmosphere of the city.
