AV Magazine has announced the launch of the inaugural AV Awards Americas, a new initiative aimed at celebrating excellence in the audiovisual (AV) industry across the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. This awards program is designed to mirror the success of the long-established AV Awards, providing a dedicated platform for recognizing outstanding achievements in North, Central, and South America.

The AV Awards Americas will employ a rigorous judging process that involves input from end users, consultants, and independent industry experts. The esteemed judging panel features notable figures, including Adrienne Buccella, partner at TAD Consultancy; Brandon Creel, partner at Hewshott; and Emily Tang, an independent contractor at etanG Productions LLC and former global technical engineer at Meta. Other panel members include Joe Way, executive director of digital spaces at UCLA; Lewis Smithingham, EVP of strategic industries at Media Monks; Matt Pana, associate director of media technology at ISDA; and Tim Albright, president of AVNation Media, who will serve as the moderator.

The awards will encompass over 20 categories and are open to companies and institutions based in or actively delivering work throughout the Americas. Eligible participants include manufacturers, distributors, integrators, rental and staging companies, consultants, agencies, and end users.

“This isn’t just another awards program; it’s a trusted stamp of industry approval,” said Clive Couldwell, group editor of AV Magazine. He emphasized that the AV Awards Americas will be built on integrity, impartiality, and industry expertise, with judges evaluating each entry solely based on merit. Couldwell added, “If you’re proud of the work you’ve delivered, whether it’s a transformative installation, a breakthrough product, or a visionary leadership initiative, this is your opportunity to earn meaningful validation from your peers and gain visibility.”

The winners of the AV Awards Americas will benefit from extensive editorial exposure through AV Magazine’s print, online, and social media channels. Furthermore, they will be invited to a winners’ reception at InfoComm 2025, one of the largest AV trade shows in the world. Winners will also have access to post-results marketing packages, which include the accredited use of official winner logos, branded digital assets, engraved trophies, printed certificates, and professional feedback reports from the judging process.

“This initiative is all about credibility, visibility, and lasting value,” said David Allen, commercial director at AV Magazine. He highlighted that what distinguishes this program is the recognition it provides, along with the subsequent support to maximize that achievement. Winners will receive tailored insights and exposure packages to help convert their success into tangible commercial advantages.

Entries for the AV Awards Americas will open on September 25, 2024, with tiered pricing available for early submissions. The winners will be announced in early 2025. For further information regarding award categories and entry criteria, interested parties can visit www.americas.avawards.com.

This initiative represents a significant step in acknowledging and promoting excellence within the AV industry across the Americas, setting a high standard for future awards programs in the sector.
