Meet the Horizon Leisure Team
Each member of the Horizon Leisure team plays a crucial role in creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable and valued. From membership advisors to health coaches, these individuals are not just employees; they are champions of community wellbeing. As a charitable trust, Horizon operates for the benefit of its entire community, understanding that fitness journeys are unique to each individual.
Tom Meades, a 27-year-old Membership Advisor from Waterlooville, emphasizes the importance of understanding customer needs. “I really enjoy speaking with our customers and getting to understand why and how they want to move more in their lives,” he says. Tom aims to guide new members toward the right membership options, reminding them that “everyone has to start somewhere.” His friendly approach helps ease the apprehension many feel when beginning their fitness journey.
Kerry Goble, 51, serves as a receptionist at Waterlooville Leisure Centre. With nearly a decade at Horizon, she finds joy in meeting new customers. “I honestly love my job,” says Kerry. “What drives me is watching people progress on their individual wellbeing journeys.” For her, meaningful interactions matter, as she strives to make each visitor feel welcomed, often being the first point of contact for individuals who may be nervous about starting their fitness journey.
Supporting Community Wellness
The role of Duty Manager is held by Aaliyah Robins, 22, who oversees daily operations at the facility. She ensures that everything runs smoothly while interacting with both staff and members. “You’ll find me all over the centre ensuring everything runs safely,” Aaliyah explains. Her commitment to maintaining a welcoming atmosphere is reflected in the positive feedback from members, who appreciate the approachable nature of the gym staff.
Mark Francis, 39, serves as a Health Coach and Exercise Referral Instructor at Havant Leisure Centre. He specializes in working with clients referred by healthcare professionals, helping them navigate their fitness journeys despite various health challenges. “I love helping people, and working with exercise referrals means the support I provide is genuinely life-changing,” Mark notes. He focuses on improving the quality of life for individuals managing health conditions, and he witnesses transformation in his clients’ confidence and abilities throughout their programs.
Horizon Leisure’s approach is about more than just physical health; it’s about fostering connections and supporting individuals through their unique experiences.
