Police Arrest Podgorica Man for Alleged Drug Trafficking

Police in Podgorica have arrested a 22-year-old man, known as P.V., following a raid on his apartment in connection with suspected street drug sales. The operation, which took place on October 18, 2023, aimed to combat the circulation of narcotics and dismantle local drug distribution networks.

According to the Police Administration of Montenegro, the raid was conducted under a court order. During the search, officers found and seized significant quantities of illegal substances. The haul included two plastic packages containing cocaine, seven packages of marijuana, and four packages containing a total of 145 synthetic ecstasy pills. Additionally, authorities discovered a hand-rolled marijuana cigarette, a precision scale, and packaging materials typically used for drugs.

The police also detained another individual, B.Š., who was present in the apartment at the time of the raid. Following the collection of evidence, the High State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica issued an order for P.V.’s arrest on charges of unauthorized production, possession, and distribution of narcotics, as well as facilitating drug use.

This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement in Montenegro to address the issue of drug trafficking and enhance public safety. The authorities remain committed to implementing measures that target drug-related crimes in the region.
