Three Arrested After Body Found in Coventry Wheelie Bin

A man’s body was discovered in a wheelie bin in Cash’s Park, Coventry, leading to the arrest of three individuals on suspicion of murder. The police received a report from a member of the public around 17:00 on March 13, 2024, prompting an immediate investigation by the West Midlands Police.

The arrested individuals include a man and a woman in their 40s and a younger man in his 20s. All three were apprehended overnight in Blackpool, with the investigation still unfolding. Authorities believe the deceased man is aged between 40 and 50, but formal identification is pending.

Investigation Underway

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole of the Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation. In a statement, he noted, “After beginning our investigation this weekend, we have made a number of arrests overnight. All of these people remain in custody at this time while we continue to build a picture of what might have happened.” He expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation and urged anyone with additional information to come forward.

The West Midlands Police continue to conduct enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. They have also activated the Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP), allowing the public to submit videos and images that may aid the investigation.
