His daughter, Amiee Clark, confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter on March 16, revealing that her father had suffered a broken back several months prior to his death.

Clark’s career spanned over five decades, during which he amassed more than 150 credits in film and television. He appeared in numerous Westerns alongside notable actors such as Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford. His filmography includes significant titles like Paul Newman’s The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean and John Wayne’s The Cowboys.

Legacy of a Versatile Actor

In addition to acting, Clark directed several acclaimed television episodes, including productions for Schoolbreak Special and two episodes of Midnight Caller. He also directed Martin Sheen in the 1988 film Da, showcasing his diverse talents in the industry.

Born in Washington, D.C. in 1936, Clark served in the U.S. Army before attending George Washington University. He eventually left university to pursue acting, training at HB Studio under the guidance of Herbert Berghof and Hickey.
