Medical Services Available During the Holidays

Medical services, including pharmacies, GP practices, and NHS 111, will remain operational throughout the Christmas season. Emergency departments and 999 services are also available for life-threatening situations.

Patients are encouraged to utilize local pharmacies for minor ailments such as coughs, colds, or infections. Many pharmacies will have extended hours during the holidays, allowing residents to seek treatment without delay.

GP practices will continue to function, with some offering extended hours. Non-urgent medical needs should be directed to patients’ respective practices as usual.

For urgent dental issues, patients can access care through NHS 111, which will facilitate appointments for necessary treatments. Urgent but non-life-threatening concerns can be addressed via NHS 111 online.

Emergency care should only be sought through 999 or A&E for critical situations.
