A family from Montenegro residing in Berlin has reaffirmed their long-standing commitment to supporting Caritas Montenegro, particularly focusing on the community kitchen in Tivtu. This kitchen operates under the auspices of the Kotor Diocese and has been a vital resource for socially vulnerable citizens in this coastal town for several years.

During a recent visit to the community kitchen, Member of Parliament Gordan Stojović met with the director of Caritas Kotor Diocese, Don Željko Pasković. Pasković expressed gratitude for the initiative and ongoing support aimed at sustaining this humanitarian project, emphasizing that the stability of such programs is crucial for their long-term functionality.

The initiative to continue this support originated from Stojović, who conveyed the message from the Montenegrin family that they remain dedicated to Caritas’ humanitarian efforts in Montenegro. They recognize the broader social importance of these projects, which play a significant role in caring for the most vulnerable segments of the population.

The Montenegrin family has been involved in the community kitchen project from its inception, providing assistance with the establishment, adaptation, and equipping of the facility. They contributed to acquiring a delivery vehicle for meal distribution and secured funding for the first year of operations, laying the groundwork for this humanitarian service to develop and stabilize. Thanks to their support, the Tivat community kitchen regularly provides meals to socially disadvantaged citizens.

During the visit, Stojović highlighted that Caritas and the Kotor Diocese maintain a permanent presence in Montenegro through their humanitarian and social engagements. He underlined that the Croatian community is an integral part of Montenegrin society and a vital component of its multicultural identity.

The ongoing support from the Berlin-based family not only underscores the importance of international ties in humanitarian efforts but also illustrates the impact of community-driven initiatives in addressing social issues in Montenegro. As the situation for many vulnerable citizens remains challenging, the continuation of such projects is essential for fostering resilience and support within local communities.
