New Leadership at TO Budva: Ticic Takes Charge After Vujošević Resignation
Ana Vujošević has resigned from her position as director of the Tourist Organization of Budva (TOB), with Milan Tičić expected to take over the leadership role. This transition comes as part of a strategic move to prepare for the return of the popular Sea Dance Festival to Budva, which is anticipated to attract significant tourism to the region.
Milan Tičić, a member of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), is well-acquainted with the workings of TOB, having previously served as the president of its Board of Directors. In addition to his political background, Tičić is recognized as a celebrated water polo player and a gold medalist from the Malaga championships, which adds to his public profile.
The decision for Vujošević’s swift resignation appears to be closely linked to the government’s desire to ensure a successful organization of the upcoming Sea Dance Festival. Local authorities aim to avoid the pitfalls that marred previous events, notably the unsuccessful New Year’s “drone show” which cost Budva approximately €250,000.
As Budva prepares for this year’s festival, local officials are focused on providing a seamless experience for both residents and tourists. Ensuring effective leadership in TOB is seen as crucial to achieving this goal. The Sea Dance Festival is expected to play a pivotal role in revitalizing the local economy and enhancing Budva’s reputation as a leading tourist destination.
The change in leadership reflects a broader commitment by the local government to prioritize tourism and cultural events, which are vital to the region’s economic health. With Tičić at the helm, stakeholders are hopeful for a renewed focus on planning and execution as Budva looks to reclaim its status as a vibrant hub for international visitors.
