Guitarist Vladimir Vanja Orlandić Releases Soulful New Album
Guitarist Vladimir Vanja Orlandić has announced the release of his latest album, titled “Me and my guitars,” showcasing a collection of instrumental compositions. This self-produced album marks Orlandić’s eighth release and features eight tracks, all performed solely on guitar without additional instrumentation.
Each composition in “Me and my guitars” reflects the artist’s personal journey, as Orlandić stated in an interview with Radio Bar: “They were played for my soul. When I had accumulated eight pieces, I decided to compile them into an album.” The album includes two covers: “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed,” originally by The Allman Brothers Band, and “Walking in Space,” from the musical Hair, along with six original compositions.
Exploring Emotional Depth Through Music
Orlandić’s music is characterized by its emotional depth, drawing heavily from blues and American musical traditions while incorporating elements of rock and roll. He hopes that this new album will resonate with a wide audience. “I hope the album finds its audience,” he said, reflecting on his artistic aspirations.
Listeners can explore Orlandić’s extensive body of work on his Bandcamp profile, where the album is available for streaming. The artist’s discography showcases his dedication and talent, revealing a rich tapestry of sounds and experiences.
Interestingly, “Me and my guitars” is noted for its tranquil tone, distinguishing it from Orlandić’s previous works. The compositions were recorded in his home studio, where the ambiance of urban life subtly permeates the tracks. Background sounds, such as children playing, motorcycle engines, and car sirens, provide a unique urban sensibility that complements the guitar melodies.
Musical Homage to Cities
Among the album’s highlights are three compositions dedicated to specific cities: “Stari grad” pays homage to the old town of Bar, “Balada o Beogradu” reflects on the Serbian capital, and “Ivana Mažuranića” is named after a quaint street in Dubrovnik. These tracks further illustrate Orlandić’s deep connection to the places that inspire his music.
Fans and new listeners alike are encouraged to experience “Me and my guitars” on Bandcamp, where they can delve into the artist’s intricate soundscapes and emotional storytelling through music.
