Jessie J Postpones Tour to Undergo Second Breast Cancer Surgery

Jessie J, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, has announced the postponement of her upcoming tour following the need for a second surgery as part of her ongoing treatment for breast cancer. The 37-year-old, whose full name is Jessica Cornish, shared the news with her fans through an Instagram video on October 5, 2023. She had previously revealed her diagnosis in June, marking a significant period of personal challenges.
In her video, Jessie J stated, “Unfortunately, I have to have a second surgery, nothing too serious, but it has to be done before the end of the year, and unfortunately that falls right in the middle of a tour that I had booked.” The singer was scheduled to perform in the UK and Europe throughout October, followed by a series of shows in the US in November.
Rescheduled Dates and Cancellations
The UK and Europe tour dates have now been rescheduled for April 2026, while the US leg has been cancelled entirely. “So that is what it is, and I’m sorry,” she expressed, adding, “I feel frustrated and sad … I need to be better, I need to be healed, and I know this is the right decision to make.”
Jessie J’s decision to speak openly about her health journey aims to inspire others who may be facing similar struggles. At the time of her diagnosis, she articulated her desire to share her experience, saying she wanted to be “open and share it” with her supporters.
A Life of Health Challenges
The singer has faced numerous health difficulties throughout her life. Diagnosed with a heart condition at the age of eight, she experienced a minor stroke at 18 and temporarily lost her hearing in 2020. In 2023, she welcomed her son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, after a previous miscarriage in November 2021.
Jessie J’s musical achievements are noteworthy; she has topped the UK singles chart three times with hits such as “Domino,” “Price Tag,” and “Bang Bang.” In 2011, she received four Mobo Awards, including Best UK Act and Best Album for her debut, Who You Are. Additionally, she was nominated for a Grammy in 2015 for her collaboration with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj on “Bang Bang.”
As she navigates this challenging chapter, Jessie J continues to inspire her audience with her resilience and determination to prioritize her health. Her fans are eagerly awaiting her return to the stage, while she focuses on her recovery.
