Cast Conflicts Emerge as Dancing with the Stars Faces Jealousy
Tensions are escalating behind the scenes of the popular reality show, Dancing with the Stars, as reports of jealousy and dissatisfaction among the cast come to light. Professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy is said to be feeling “demoralized” in his partnership with influencer Alix Earle, raising concerns about their chances of success in the competition. Sources close to the pair indicate that Chmerkovskiy, who has won the show three times, wishes he had been paired with a different celebrity.
Rehearsals have been particularly challenging for Chmerkovskiy and Earle, with the duo struggling to master complex dance routines, including a two-person cartwheel. While they present a cheerful facade on social media, insiders reveal a growing sense of frustration. Chmerkovskiy, 39, is reportedly preoccupied with the recent elimination of his wife, Jenna Johnson, who was first to leave the competition alongside partner Corey Feldman last week.
Chmerkovskiy and Johnson are not alone in feeling the pressures of the current season. Fellow professional dancer Gleb Savchenko is also grappling with his partnership with Hilaria Baldwin, wife of actor Alec Baldwin. Savchenko, 42, is concerned that Baldwin’s public perception could hinder their performance. After receiving a score of 21 out of 30 for their tango last week, Savchenko expressed disappointment at the apparent lack of support for Baldwin, who has faced criticism since the season began.
Insiders suggest that the atmosphere on set is less vibrant compared to previous seasons. “This has been a hard season for everyone,” one source noted. “There’s no magic this year, and it’s hard to pinpoint exactly why.” Contestants who typically bring a lively spirit to the show seem to be struggling, contributing to a lack of chemistry between partners. For Chmerkovskiy, the absence of a more engaged partner has left him feeling disheartened.
Fans of the show have echoed these sentiments, with many expressing concerns over the dynamics between Chmerkovskiy and Earle. Comments on social media highlight a perceived awkwardness, with some viewers noting that the couple seems to lack chemistry. “Alix and Val seem to have zero chemistry,” one Reddit user remarked. Another added, “Does anyone else feel like Val and Alix have really bad chemistry?”
Despite the challenges, Chmerkovskiy reportedly admires other contestants who display positive attitudes and enthusiasm. He has expressed a desire to dance with Danielle Fishel, who, despite dealing with a hamstring injury, managed to secure a score of 19 out of 30 for her Cha Cha last week. Comparatively, Chmerkovskiy and Earle’s score was only two points higher, prompting speculation about their competitive edge.
Savchenko’s concerns regarding his partnership with Baldwin are compounded by the latter’s controversial public image. Baldwin has faced scrutiny for her past claims about her heritage, as well as for her behavior on social media. Earlier this season, she was criticized for reverting to a Spanish accent during an interview, leading to accusations of cultural appropriation. Additionally, her actions on social media, including liking negative comments about fellow contestants, have not helped her standing with viewers.
As the competition progresses, both Chmerkovskiy and Savchenko must navigate the delicate balance of creating engaging performances while managing the perceptions of their partners. “There’s definitely added pressure going into this week,” an insider shared, highlighting the importance of a compelling routine to win over audiences.
With the next performance looming, both dancers are under pressure to showcase their partners’ talents effectively. As Dancing with the Stars continues, the underlying currents of jealousy and dissatisfaction may further complicate the journey for many cast members, leaving fans eager to see how these dynamics will unfold in the coming weeks.
