Apollo Gym, a prominent fitness facility located on the Arches Industrial Estate in Spon End, Coventry, has received a nomination for the prestigious Best Strength Gym of the Year award from the National Fitness Association. As one of Coventry’s longest-standing independent gyms, Apollo Gym prides itself on creating an atmosphere described by many as one of the best in the UK. The gym’s owners, Ryan Willets and Amar Takhar, emphasize that they consider their members as part of a family, contributing to the gym’s unique charm.
In addition to its latest nomination, Apollo Gym was honored as Gym of the Year in 2023 by NFM UK, a notable fitness organization that has grown significantly since its inception in 2017. NFM UK has become a leading platform in the bodybuilding and fitness community, showcasing a variety of categories, from men’s beach body to women’s figure toned.

The gym has garnered an impressive 4.8-star rating on Google Reviews, reflecting the positive experiences of its members. Testimonials highlight the gym’s dedication to quality and community support. Member Patrycja Vida praised Apollo Gym for its excellent facilities, noting that one entire floor is dedicated to leg training, making it ideal for serious fitness enthusiasts. She remarked, “The atmosphere is amazing, and the community is very supportive; everyone is helpful and welcoming.”

In a recent video shared on Facebook, Willets and Takhar expressed their gratitude for the support from their members. They stated, “We wouldn’t be in this situation if it weren’t for your support and the people who show up every day to our gym. A lot of effort goes into our gym, and we are massively grateful.” They emphasized their commitment to representing Coventry in a unique way, stating, “This is the biggest thing to happen to the gym in the last few years, and the fact that we are being nominated into this is a win in itself.”
