NEC Launches AI Consultation Service for Japanese Enterprises
NEC Corporation has introduced a new consultation service aimed at assisting enterprises in Japan that are currently underutilising artificial intelligence (AI). This initiative, known as the AI Discovery Program+, focuses on enhancing management strategies and developing comprehensive roadmaps for AI adoption across various sectors.
Comprehensive Approach to AI Integration
The program encompasses six key themes: corporate policy, business utilisation, governance, systems, data, and organisation and human resources. Through this initiative, NEC aims to provide tailored advice that helps businesses leverage AI effectively, while also pinpointing priority areas for deployment.
NEC expressed its commitment to “promote the advancement of corporate operations and contribute to the realisation of a society where everyone can use AI safely and securely.” The company indicated that the rapid evolution of AI technologies, particularly generative AI, has transformed these tools into essential components for business growth and competitiveness.
Despite these advancements, NEC highlighted significant challenges that many enterprises face in adopting AI. A primary concern is that AI technology is not being utilised to its full potential, resulting in inadequate practical applications. Additionally, NEC noted that many organisations struggle with insufficient company-wide control and management of AI systems.
Addressing Barriers to Adoption
In light of these challenges, NEC emphasised the increasing need for a strategic approach to AI integration. This includes a thorough design and governance framework for effective AI utilisation. As companies grapple with the complexities of AI, the demand for expert guidance in this area is becoming more critical.
NEC’s AI Discovery Program+ is designed not only to facilitate a smoother transition to AI technologies but also to ensure that these innovations contribute positively to business operations. By providing structured support and addressing common pitfalls, NEC aims to empower Japanese enterprises to harness AI’s full potential.
In conclusion, as AI continues to reshape the business landscape, NEC’s consultation service stands as a vital resource for companies looking to navigate this transformative technology effectively.
