Peter Andre Sets Strict Guidelines for Daughter’s Reality Show
Peter Andre has established strict guidelines for his daughter Princess Andre as she embarks on her reality television journey with the show The Princess Diaries, which premiered on ITV2 last week. The 18-year-old’s new series has garnered significant attention, prompting her father to share his thoughts on her participation, particularly in light of recent tensions with her mother, Katie Price.
In a candid interview with The Mail, Andre, age 51, expressed his reservations about Princess entering the entertainment industry at a young age. He emphasized that he wanted her to wait until she was at an “age where she could do it herself.” He stated, “I was very strict about what she wasn’t allowed to do before she got to this age.” This protective stance has evolved, as Andre admitted to struggling with the transition of allowing Princess more independence now that she is an adult.
“I know I had to let go of the reins a bit, and that it was not easy. It’s scary because it’s still your baby,” he explained. Andre’s parenting style has softened over the years, particularly as he balances raising his older children, Princess, and her brother, Junior Andre, who is 20 years old, with his younger children, Amelia (11), Theo (8), and Arabella (16 months) with wife Emily Andre.
This development comes after a turbulent week marked by a feud between Andre and Price, who reportedly expressed frustration about being excluded from certain aspects of Princess’s life. Following a controversial video leak featuring Price making derogatory remarks about her children with Andre, tensions have heightened. The video, filmed in 2020, shows Price discussing financial issues related to her bankruptcy while disparaging Emily and her children, calling them “irrelevant.”
Sources close to Andre revealed, “Katie was talking about her own children in a disrespectful manner. It’s disgusting.” They highlighted the negative impact such comments could have on Princess, who was only 13 at the time. Andre’s family is reportedly eager to shield her from further drama, emphasizing the need for a peaceful environment.
In response to the ongoing disputes, Andre has sought legal counsel to address Price’s claims regarding the children’s living arrangements. He clarified, “For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife,” underscoring the importance of setting the record straight. He shared that a family court issued a legally binding order in 2019 to ensure the children’s safety and well-being, which has been a point of contention in the ongoing public dispute.
Price, in a podcast appearance, expressed her dissatisfaction with being excluded from Princess’s new reality show, claiming that Andre and his management team have prohibited her from participating due to perceptions about her character. She urged for a collaborative approach among the adults involved for the sake of their children.
As the situation continues to unfold, both families navigate the complexities of co-parenting in the public eye while attempting to prioritize the well-being of their children. Andre’s firm stance on protecting Princess in her new venture demonstrates the delicate balance between parental guidance and allowing young adults to forge their own paths in the entertainment industry.
