Skrilla Claims Viral Song Will Feature in GTA 6 Soundtrack
Rapper Skrilla has announced that his viral song, Doot Doot (6 7), will be included in the upcoming game Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), which has become a topic of significant online discussion. The anticipation surrounding the soundtrack for the latest installment in the popular gaming franchise is palpable, as fans eagerly await new music to complement the gameplay. Following the success of previous games like GTA V, which was released over 12 years ago, the pressure is on for Rockstar Games to deliver yet another iconic soundtrack.
During an appearance on Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast, Skrilla expressed his enthusiasm for the game, stating, “I’m waiting for GTA 6 to come out… 6 7 is on there, too.” His remarks have fueled speculation about the game’s soundtrack, which has already featured six confirmed tracks in its trailers. Notably, other artists such as Drake and DJ Khaled have also been rumored to contribute, with many hoping to see unique radio stations dedicated to their music.
Skrilla, who has gained popularity thanks to the “6 7” meme, shared more insights during the podcast. When co-host Shane Gillis inquired whether GTA 6 is set in Florida—a location Skrilla had referenced throughout the discussion—the rapper confirmed, adding, “Yeah, 6 7 is on there. I’m going to be my own person on there, playing my own music.”
As the release date for GTA 6 approaches, fans remain anxious. The launch has been postponed to at least May 26, 2026, after Rockstar Games decided to push back their initial holiday 2025 deadline, citing the need for additional development time. This delay has led to concerns that the game might be further postponed, with some speculating a late 2026 release. Despite these worries, there has been no official comment from either Rockstar Games or its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.
The gaming community is buzzing with excitement as they await confirmation of Skrilla’s involvement in the new game. With the long wait for GTA 6, which follows more than a decade of playing GTA V, fans are eager for any news that could enhance their gaming experience. As the countdown continues, many are hopeful that Skrilla’s claim will hold true and that his music will become part of the GTA legacy.
In the meantime, the world watches to see how the soundtrack will evolve, and whether it will live up to the high expectations set by its predecessors. The inclusion of artists like Skrilla could potentially mark a new chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series, blending the vibrant culture of gaming with contemporary music trends.
