Star-Studded Arrivals Light Up the Red Carpet at Oscars 2023
The 98th Academy Awards kicked off with a dazzling display of fashion as celebrities graced the red carpet on March 12, 2023. Among the early arrivals was Rose Byrne, nominated for Best Leading Actress for her performance in *If I Had Legs I’d Kick You*. She made a striking entrance in a strapless black fishtail gown designed by Dior, featuring floral embroidery that artfully adorned the bodice and hem. Byrne completed her look with slicked-back hair, a bold statement necklace, and a vibrant red lip, capturing the glamour of the evening.
Another standout was rising star Chase Infiniti, known for her role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s film *One Battle After Another*. Infiniti embraced the spirit of spring with a pale purple gown from Louis Vuitton, characterized by a form-fitting bodice and a flowing ruffled skirt. Her relaxed style was complemented by loose micro braids, adding a fresh touch to her ensemble.
Fashion Statements from the Nominees
Norwegian actress Renate Reinsve, also nominated for Best Actress for her role in *Sentimental Value*, opted for a vibrant red strapless dress, again from Louis Vuitton. The asymmetric hem and minimalistic styling, featuring slicked-back hair and strappy sandals, showcased her sophisticated approach to the event.
Appearing alongside them was Felicity Jones, known for her role in *Brutalist*. She donned a pale lemon gown with a tulle caped overlay, accentuated by delicate sequin detailing that shimmered under the lights. In a striking monochromatic look, Alicia Silverstone presented herself in a custom Christian Siriano ensemble, which included a black velvet strapless bodice, matching gloves, and a sequined white skirt, embodying elegance.
Adding to the vibrant array of styles, Charithra Chandran from *Bridgerton* opted for a rich emerald gown by Miss Sohee, featuring a strapless design and a voluminous skirt adorned with a bow at the rear.
Whimsy and Color on Display
Actress Lola Kirke, who stars in the acclaimed film *Sinners*, arrived in a whimsical black midi-length dress. The outfit included intricate bow detailing, lace, and sheer panels that created a playful yet chic look. Author Maggie O’Farrell, whose novel *Hamnet* is making its way to the big screen, embraced bold colors with a bright fuchsia gown. She accessorized with black accents, including a belt, necklace, lace gloves, and a fascinator, completing her vibrant appearance.
The red carpet’s glamour set the tone for an evening celebrating cinematic achievements, with a rich tapestry of fashion reflecting both individual style and the significance of the event. As the Oscars continue to unfold, the excitement surrounding the nominees and their artistic contributions remains palpable.
