Tragic Loss: Mickey Lee, 35, Dies After Cardiac Arrests
Mickey Lee, a notable figure from the reality television series Big Brother, passed away on December 25, 2023, at the age of 35. Her family confirmed that she suffered multiple cardiac arrests due to complications related to the flu. The heartbreaking news was shared via a statement on her Instagram account, where her family expressed gratitude for the support from fans and described Lee as a person whose “authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression.”
In the family’s announcement, they conveyed, “With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening.” They highlighted her impact on audiences during her time on Big Brother, noting how she formed genuine connections with both fans and fellow contestants. The statement continued, “Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide… She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many.”
As the family mourns, they have requested privacy during this difficult time. They also indicated that details regarding memorial services will be shared later. “Mickey’s light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten,” they added.

Prior to her passing, Lee was hospitalized in critical but stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit due to cardiac issues stemming from flu-related complications. A post on her Instagram account revealed that a GoFundMe campaign had been initiated to assist with her medical expenses, raising over $32,000 (approximately £23,697) within a few days. The post stated, “She has been surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, but the road ahead will be long and challenging.”
The community rallied around Lee, as friends and colleagues shared their support online. “She has touched so many lives through her courage, bold personality, and unforgettable presence on Big Brother. Let’s show her the same love and support now when she needs it most,” the Instagram post encouraged.

Jimmy Heagarty, another castmate, shared fond memories of Lee through a video and photo on Instagram. “Someone who was silly, who smiled and laughed, but importantly someone who always cared,” he reflected. He emphasized how Lee could brighten a room effortlessly and create lasting memories.
“This is so devastating,” commented Mecole Hayes, who participated in Season 25 of Big Brother. “We are incredibly sad for this unfortunate loss. Rest peacefully beautiful.”
Another poignant tribute came from Bayleigh Pelham of Big Brother Canada, who expressed her admiration for Lee’s character. “I’m happy she got to live out an experience of a lifetime on Big Brother and share her light with the world. This one hurts,” Pelham stated.
