Celebrate Healthcare Heroes: Nominate Your NHS Champions Today
Patients and visitors across the Humber region are encouraged to nominate outstanding NHS staff members for the annual Healthcare Heroes Award. This initiative, spearheaded by the NHS Humber Health Partnership, aims to recognize those who demonstrate exceptional dedication to patient care.
With over 19,000 staff members working in various roles across two trusts and five hospitals, including Hull, Castle Hill, Goole, Grimsby, and Scunthorpe, the nominations will highlight individuals and teams who have significantly impacted patient experiences. The Golden Stars 2026 ceremony, scheduled for July 3, 2026, will celebrate these remarkable contributions.
The Healthcare Heroes Award seeks nominations from patients and their families who have witnessed the positive influence of healthcare professionals. Whether through compassionate care or exceptional teamwork, these nominees embody the spirit of the NHS. Murray Macdonald, interim chairman of NHS Humber Health Partnership, emphasized the importance of this recognition, stating, “This is your opportunity to shine a light on our incredible NHS heroes, who support more than a million patients each year.”
The call for nominations invites everyone who has had an experience within the NHS framework in the Humber area to participate. This is a unique chance to express gratitude to those who make a meaningful difference. Lyn Simpson, interim group chief executive, added, “With over 19,000 staff striving for excellence every day, there’s no better way to show your appreciation than by nominating someone who has made a positive impact on you or your loved ones.”
Nominations can be submitted through the awards website at nlg.nhs.uk/about/awards. By participating in this initiative, you not only highlight the achievements of dedicated healthcare professionals but also inspire a culture of appreciation within the NHS.
The Golden Stars ceremony will feature 15 award categories, including the prestigious Healthcare Heroes Award, showcasing the commitment and hard work of NHS staff. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, recognizing those who go above and beyond remains essential.
In a time when healthcare professionals face unprecedented challenges, acknowledging their efforts has never been more vital. Take a moment to reflect on your experiences and consider nominating a healthcare hero who has made a lasting impact. Your nomination can help celebrate the dedication of the NHS workforce, ensuring their contributions are remembered and honored.
