Wuka Launches Wearable Hot Water Bottle for Menstrual Relief
A new product aimed at alleviating menstrual discomfort has been launched by the UK-based period health brand, Wuka. The company has introduced a wearable hot water bottle that fastens around the waist, providing ease and warmth for those experiencing bloating and cramps. Priced at £29.99, this innovative product offers users the ability to find relief while managing their daily activities, whether at home or during their commute.
The Wearable Hot Water Bottle measures 77 cm, which reportedly makes it the longest available on the market. Designed to envelop the body, it can be applied to the abdomen or back to relieve various types of pain. Encased in a plush fleece cover, the product features a tie fastening for secure wear, as well as a pocket for warming hands or storing small personal items like mobile phones.
Wuka’s hot water bottle is made from natural rubber, which means it is unsuitable for individuals with a latex allergy. It is machine washable at 40 °C and can be air-dried inside out. For proper maintenance, it should be stored empty and out of direct sunlight. Users are advised to fill it with hot (but not boiling) water to about two-thirds capacity.
In addition to the hot water bottle, Wuka offers a variety of period care products. Their Period Starter Kit for teenagers is currently discounted to £34.99, down from £45.95. This kit includes a pair of period underwear that provides up to 12 hours of leak-proof protection, alongside a two-pocket changing bag, a comforting heat patch, a pack of intimate wipes, and a period-positive sticker set.
Adults can also benefit from Wuka’s offerings, including the Wuka Go Bag, which features two Stretch Midi Period Pants, a pack of Wuka Wipes, and a double-pocket changing bag for £39.99, reduced from £47.96. These pants can be reused for up to two years and are designed to be rinsed before machine washing.
For customers seeking alternative options, the Body Hot Water Bottle by YUYU is available at Argos for £30. This product features a grey polka dot design and can be secured around the stomach. Additionally, Amazon stocks a Wearable Hot Water Bottle Belt, originally priced at £37.99 but now available for £34.99. This belt accommodates adults wearing UK sizes six to 20 and comes with a soft, fluffy cover.
Feedback from customers who have purchased Wuka’s Wearable Hot Water Bottle has generally been positive. One reviewer stated, “This hot water bottle is a lifesaver. It helps with bloat and discomfort, just tie it on wherever you need it to be. Highly recommend, amazing concept well executed.” Another user expressed appreciation for the hands-free design, noting, “It is so nice to wear a hot water bottle without using hands, plus the flexibility and extra coverage when areas are sore is amazing.”
Despite the overall praise, some customers reported sizing issues. One individual mentioned, “It works and is nice and soft. But too small for my belly so not really wearable for me as I’m a size 14.” Another user shared, “I am very pleased with the wearable hot water bottle and I really like being able to tuck my hands in the front pouch. I do find the ties a bit tricky but I see myself using it regularly, especially as we head into winter.”
The majority of customers have found the product beneficial, with one buyer stating, “I have endometriosis and honestly these wearable hot water bottles have been a lifesaver for me. I pretty much wear it almost all day. They are just so clever. Thank you WUKA for starting to sell these.”
With the introduction of the Wearable Hot Water Bottle, Wuka aims to provide a practical and effective solution for menstrual discomfort, enhancing comfort and mobility for users.
