Abandoned Dog Loka Seeks Loving Home After Recovery Journey
A six-year-old black retriever named Loka is urgently seeking a new home in the UK after being abandoned on the streets of Egypt by her previous owners. Left to fend for herself, Loka was found in a dire state, close to death, and required extensive medical care to recover from severe neglect.
Rescue workers discovered Loka, who had become emaciated and infested with parasites. She was unable to stand and needed immediate assistance. After undergoing months of rehabilitation, she regained her strength and mobility, thanks to the efforts of Miracle’s Mission, a non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing sick, injured, and disabled animals worldwide.
Journey to Recovery
Loka’s journey took a challenging turn after her initial rescue. Due to the overwhelming number of unwanted dogs in Egypt, her rescuer had no choice but to place her in a local shelter. Loka was eventually adopted by a family for a brief period of six months. Unfortunately, they decided their circumstances no longer permitted pet ownership and sought to relinquish both Loka and another dog.
A representative from Miracle’s Mission expressed the cruelty of this situation, stating, “People are so cruel.” Despite her turbulent past, Loka has been described as a “sweet and very playful girl” who thrives on human interaction. She is particularly good with people and other dogs, making her a suitable companion for an active household.
A Call for a Forever Home
Now, Loka is searching for a dedicated owner who can provide her with the love and attention she deserves. The ideal home would have another dog and, after careful introductions, could potentially welcome cats. According to the rescue organization, Loka’s main objective is to be active and engage in play with other dogs. She would benefit from regular walks and ample space to run around, ideally in a secure garden.
Miracle’s Mission emphasizes their commitment to finding Loka a loving home in the UK, stating, “We would love to see Loka playing, running, and being loved in a home.” The organization also highlights Loka’s love for water, suggesting that she would enjoy activities involving swimming or playing in water.
If you are interested in adopting Loka or would like more information about her, please contact Miracle’s Mission at [email protected]. The organization is dedicated to educating the public about the importance of neutering pets and strays, as well as preventing further abandonment of animals.
This situation serves as a poignant reminder of the responsibility pet owners have and the impact of neglect on vulnerable animals. Loka’s story is one of resilience, and with the right family, she could have the bright future she deserves.
