Amazon Australia Sets Final Cut-Off for Christmas Deliveries
Amazon Australia has announced its final cut-off date for pre-Christmas deliveries, allowing last-minute shoppers to place orders and receive gifts in time for the holiday. With only three days until Christmas, customers can still purchase items from a vast selection of eligible products.
Shoppers in major cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide can take advantage of this opportunity, particularly Prime members who can order right up until tonight. According to Janet Menzies, Country Manager for Amazon Australia, the festive season can be overwhelming, and the company aims to alleviate some of that stress for consumers.
“Suddenly it’s a week out from Christmas and you’re still ticking off your wishlist,” Menzies explained. “Our extended cut-off dates allow most last-minute shoppers to place orders through to December 22. Fast, reliable delivery across a broad selection of products remains central to our promise.”
Delivery Options and Prime Benefits
Prime members benefit from free delivery on eligible items and access to exclusive entertainment options. New subscribers can enjoy a 30-day free trial, after which the membership costs $9.99 per month or $79 annually. The holiday season has prompted Amazon to enhance its operational capabilities, with investments totaling almost $1.6 billion since January 2024. This has led to the creation of approximately 1,500 permanent jobs and the onboarding of 1,800 seasonal workers to manage increased demand.
Menzies highlighted the importance of ensuring timely deliveries, stating that Amazon has improved its network in Australia to provide quick, reliable service. Prime members can now access evening, weekend, and next-day delivery on over one million items.
Shopping Tips for Last-Minute Shoppers
For those rushing to complete their Christmas shopping, Amazon Australia has shared several tips. Customers are encouraged to confirm delivery dates at checkout, as cut-off dates can be influenced by external factors. Early shopping is recommended to secure the best delivery options and avoid last-minute stress.
Using filters to sort items by “Prime” and “Ships from Australia” can significantly expedite shipping times. Customers should also check stock availability to prevent delays caused by out-of-stock items.
For added convenience, Amazon offers a label-free drop-off service for returns at post office and ParcelPoint locations. The holiday returns window has been extended, allowing most items purchased between November 1 and December 31 to be returned until January 31, 2026.
With the clock ticking down to Christmas Day, Amazon Australia’s measures are designed to help customers navigate the busy shopping season efficiently. As the company continues to expand its operations and improve delivery options, shoppers can look forward to a smoother holiday shopping experience.
