Llandrindod Wells Foodbank Seeks Community Support for 2026
The Llandrindod Wells Foodbank is calling for ongoing community support as it prepares for the challenges of 2026. Organisers have expressed gratitude to local schools, businesses, churches, supermarkets, voluntary groups, and individuals who have sustained operations throughout 2025. In a recent Facebook post, the foodbank highlighted the crucial role these contributors have played in its continued existence.
The foodbank stated, “We are incredibly grateful to our community, to local schools, supermarkets, churches, businesses, voluntary organisations, the town council, and to private individuals, for standing by us over the last twelve months. Without your support, our foodbank simply wouldn’t exist.”
In 2025, like many foodbanks across the country, Llandrindod Wells Foodbank faced a significant drop in food donations. This decline forced the organisation to purchase additional food to maintain their stock levels. Despite these challenges, the foodbank successfully provided Christmas food hampers to 30 of the most underprivileged families in the area, thanks to the generosity of the community.
Ongoing Needs and Donation Options
Looking ahead to 2026, the foodbank emphasised the need for continued assistance. Specific items in high demand include long-life milk, long-life juice, pasta sauces, tinned vegetables, and small jars of coffee. Community members can contribute by donating food items at collection bins located in Llandrindod’s Tesco and Aldi stores. Financial donations are also welcomed, and supporters can help raise awareness by sharing posts from the foodbank’s Facebook page.
“Every donation, no matter how small, helps us support local families who need it most,” the foodbank stressed.
Llandrindod Wells Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to individuals and families struggling to afford food. Referrals come from over 40 local agencies and charities, ensuring that those in need receive timely assistance. While food parcels are being prepared, guests are invited to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, allowing organisers an opportunity to engage in conversation and offer guidance to additional support services as needed.
For more information about Llandrindod Wells Foodbank, individuals can visit their location at Oasis (The Venue) on Spa Road, call 07519 839189, or email [email protected]. The foodbank also maintains an online presence at llandrindod.foodbank.org.uk and on its Facebook page.
The commitment of the Llandrindod Wells community remains vital as the foodbank navigates the complexities of food security in the coming year.
