Organisers of the Good Times Live festival in Chipping Sodbury, a small town located near Bristol, have announced that the iconic 1980s band Madness will headline the event next year. The festival is scheduled to take place during the Spring Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May 2026, with Madness performing on the Saturday night.
This announcement comes as a significant milestone for the festival, which has previously hosted renowned artists such as Chesney Hawkes, Billy Ocean, Craig David, and Will Young. Festival director James Murden expressed the excitement surrounding this year’s headliner, stating, “Madness have been top of our wishlist for years, and we’re beyond excited to finally welcome them to Good Times Live.”
Major Production Enhancements Planned
The festival’s production team is preparing for an impressive show, with production manager Tom Campbell confirming that the stage will be upgraded to accommodate the band’s renowned high-energy performances. “The production is so big, we’re upgrading our stage to make it even bigger,” Campbell said. Fans can expect a spectacular display as Madness, known for their blend of ska, pop, and punk, takes the stage.
Madness rose to fame in the late 1970s, delivering classics such as “One Step Beyond,” “Our House,” and “Baggy Trousers.” Their unique sound and vibrant performances have solidified their status as a leading band of the new wave era.
Alongside Madness, the festival will feature a comedy night, showcasing local comedians who have achieved national and international success, including Russell Howard. Additionally, Emeli Sandé has been confirmed as the Sunday headliner, promising a diverse lineup for attendees.
