Teen Artist Andres Valencia Collaborates with Paris Print House
Thirteen-year-old artist Andres Valencia has forged a significant partnership with Mourlot Editions, the esteemed Parisian print house known for its rich history in fine art printing. Founded in 1852, Mourlot has produced lithographs for renowned artists like Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, and Miró. This collaboration marks a notable milestone in Valencia’s burgeoning career.
The partnership features three limited edition prints titled Woman, Samurai, and Commander, each measuring 22 by 28 inches. The prints are crafted using traditional techniques that have been refined by generations of master printers at Mourlot. Collectors can purchase unsigned copies for $250 USD, while signed editions are available for $1,250 USD through the Mourlot Editions website.
Valencia first gained recognition as the youngest artist to showcase work at Art Miami in 2021. His large, Cubist-inspired canvases have seen impressive price increases, rising from $10,000 USD to over $100,000 USD in just three years. Notably, five of his paintings have been sold at auction by Phillips, further solidifying his reputation in the art world.
Valencia’s influence extends beyond the canvas. With nearly 300,000 followers on Instagram, he has garnered a diverse range of collectors, including celebrities such as Eva Longoria, Sofia Vergara, and Sergio Ramos, along with prominent art figures like Ron Burkle and Jessica Goldman.
In addition to his artistic endeavors, Valencia has made significant contributions to charitable causes. He has donated over $1 million USD worth of works to organizations like UNICEF and amfAR. Earlier this year, he also published his first book, Painting Without Rules, through DK Penguin Random House, further showcasing his artistic philosophy and journey.
Looking ahead, Valencia’s first museum exhibition is set to take place in early 2027 at the Museo Jumex in Mexico City. This exhibition promises to be a vital platform for his evolving body of work and an opportunity to engage with a broader audience.
The collaboration with Mourlot Editions not only highlights Valencia’s talent but also underscores the significance of young artists in the contemporary art scene. As his career continues to unfold, the art world eagerly anticipates his future contributions and exhibitions.
