Young Fundraiser Shannon Powell Raises Over £1,000 for Charity

A nine-year-old girl from Llandudno, Shannon Powell, successfully raised more than £1,000 for a children’s cancer charity through a fundraising event she organized at a local hotel. The event took place at The New Alexandra Hotel on February 14, 2024, where attendees enjoyed a charity raffle, karaoke, and cash bingo.

The total amount raised reached £1,095.90, significantly exceeding Shannon’s initial fundraising target of £500. The proceeds will benefit Children with Cancer UK, an organization dedicated to funding research and providing support for children diagnosed with cancer and their families.

Shannon expressed her gratitude to everyone who participated in the event. “I would like to thank everyone who came to my charity event and made it such a special night,” she said. Her appreciation extended to those who donated prizes and purchased raffle tickets, stating, “It means so much.”

The young fundraiser also acknowledged the support of her mother’s boss, Sam, for allowing her to host the charity night at the venue. “I am very grateful to everyone for their support,” Shannon added. She hopes that the money raised will contribute to making a positive impact in the lives of young children facing cancer.
