A rare astronomical event is taking place as the interstellar object known as 3I/ATLAS encounters a coronal mass ejection from the Sun. NASA, while acknowledging the intrigue surrounding the object, remains focused on the natural explanations. A recent discovery by astronomers using the MeerKAT radio telescope in South Africa detected a faint radio signal from 3I/ATLAS, which revealed the chemical signature of hydroxyl radicals (OH). This component is indicative of water vapour, suggesting that the object is outgassing due to solar heating, rather than being a manufactured craft.
