Finally, Sam Thain capped off the emphatic win with a goal two minutes from the final whistle.

Meanwhile, the opening round of the season’s final knockout competition, the Cruickshank Cup, did not proceed as planned on Friday. Grantown Rovers were unable to field a team, granting Aviemore Thistle a walkover into the semi-finals.
