Caković and Vukčević Recognized as Top Performers in Judo Awards
The Judo Association of Montenegro has announced its top awards for 2025, recognizing outstanding achievements in the sport. Lidija Caković has been named the best competitor, while Dejan Vukčević earned the title of best coach. The clubs Feniks and Budva received accolades as the best clubs of the year.
During the announcement, Miloš Ašanin, President of the Judo Association, emphasized the significant progress made in the sport over the past year. He attributed this growth to the dedication and hard work of athletes, coaches, clubs, and sports workers. Ašanin noted that the achievements of Montenegrin representatives on European and world stages serve as strong validation of the sport’s development in the country.
In addition to Caković’s recognition, Jelena Vukčević was awarded the best competitor in the under-21 category. Other notable awardees included Andrija Golić (U18), Elena Jovanović (U16), Mia Vasiljević (U14), Andrea Milaš (U12), and Mario Savićević (U10).
Caković also received special acknowledgment for winning a bronze medal at the World Games, alongside Stefan Vukotić and coach Ranko Vukotić. The association highlighted other medalists, including Arsa Milić, Mirjana Martinović, and Stefan Vukotić, who secured gold at both European and World Championships for seniors.
The awards ceremony also recognized many athletes for their successes at the senior level in various categories. Notable medalists included Krsto Radulović, Nataša Jeftić, Luka Miletić, and Nikola Perović, among others, who received accolades for their performances on the international stage.
Coaches who have contributed significantly to the national teams were also honored. Nikola Prodanović, Mladen Jokmanović, Mirjana Martinović, and Marko Jokmanović each received special recognition for their efforts during international competitions.
The Judo Association of Montenegro acknowledged the contributions of the Ministry of Sports and Youth of Montenegro and the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, awarding them for their support in developing the sport. Additionally, plaques were presented to deserving sports workers who have significantly contributed to the advancement of judo, including Dubravka Joksimović, Davor Marković, and Srđan Kujović.
These awards not only celebrate individual and team achievements but also highlight the commitment to fostering judo’s growth in Montenegro, paving the way for future successes on the international stage.
