Crowe Brothers Claim Sports Team of the Year at Villa Marina
The Crowe brothers, Ryan and Callum, were honored with the prestigious title of Sports Team of the Year at the Villa Marina on March 14, 2025. The recognition highlights their exceptional achievements in Manx motorsport, particularly following their successful campaign at the Isle of Man TT.
Stepping off the stage after receiving the award, Ryan expressed the significance of the moment. “It means a massive amount to all of us as a team,” he stated. The brothers were celebrated for their impressive performance during the recent TT season, where they broke the sidecar lap record and secured victory in the first three-wheeled race of the week. They finished ahead of 14-time winner Ben Birchall and his new passenger, Patrick Rosney, by more than a minute.
Ryan acknowledged the talent present at the awards ceremony, remarking on the caliber of athletes in various sports. “You come to events like these and you look around at the pool of talent,” he said, emphasizing the rich sporting culture on the Isle of Man. The Crowes’ latest award adds to their growing list of accolades, reinforcing their status in the competitive world of motorsport.
Despite their success, the brothers remain grounded. Ryan emphasized the hard work and dedication required not only from them but also from their entire team. “To be able to do what we do takes a lot of training,” he explained. “It is hard work.” Their commitment to excellence is evident as they prepare for the upcoming TT 2026, with fewer than 100 days remaining until the next race.
“We’ve been putting the work in since TT last year,” Ryan shared, revealing his recent involvement with engineers to refine their strategy and performance. The brothers are focused on achieving their goal once again: to stand on the top step of the podium in both races. “We have the best in the world in our sport, and if they beat us, I’ll accept it. But as long as I can beat myself every time I go, I’m happy with that,” he stated.
For Ryan and Callum, who grew up watching their father, Nick Crowe, race, winning at the TT remains a dream fulfilled. Ryan reflected on their journey, saying, “For us as brothers to stand on the top step together at the TT – it still doesn’t sink in most days what you’ve done and where you’re at.”
The thrill of sidecar racing is accompanied by an inherent risk, a reality that the Crowes do not overlook. Ryan candidly acknowledged the dangers involved, stating, “It’s human nature – you do think about the dangers. But maybe that’s what separates us from being normal.” He added that their passion for racing drives them to focus on the task at hand, despite the risks involved.
As the Crowe brothers continue to make their mark in motorsport, their dedication and humility set them apart in a field marked by fierce competition. With the Isle of Man TT just around the corner, fans eagerly anticipate what the future holds for this dynamic duo.
