New Year’s Baby Arrives Just After Midnight in Montenegro

In Podgorica, Montenegro, the first baby of 2026 was born just nine minutes after midnight at the Klinicki Bolnicki Centar Crne Gore. The newborn boy, weighing 3,790 grams and measuring 53 centimeters in length, arrived at 00:09 on January 1. According to local reports from RTV Podgorica, both the mother and child are in excellent health, with the baby receiving a perfect Apgar score of 10/10.

The mother, Gjyste Globarevic, received a visit from Jelena Borovinic-Bojovic, the President of the Assembly of the Capital, who congratulated her on the new arrival. In a gesture of goodwill, Borovinic-Bojovic presented Globarevic with a financial voucher worth 500 euros on behalf of the city.
