Police Charge Man After Seizing Explosives and Firearm in Berane
Police in Berane have filed a criminal complaint against a local resident, identified as R.A., for allegedly possessing illegal firearms and explosives. The complaint follows a search operation where authorities discovered over half a kilogram of explosives, a M70 pistol of 7.65mm caliber, 16 rounds of various types and calibers of ammunition, and three magazines for the firearm.
According to the Police Directorate, this operation was part of a broader effort to tackle illegal weapon possession in the region. Officers from the Regional Security Centre “North” conducted the search, which resulted in the significant seizure of dangerous materials.
The police have stated that they will continue to enhance their efforts in monitoring and conducting operational activities aimed at uncovering and suppressing illegal weapons possession. This initiative is crucial for ensuring public safety and maintaining order in Berane and its surroundings.
Local authorities have emphasized the importance of community cooperation in reporting suspicious activities related to firearms and explosives. They encourage residents to remain vigilant and assist law enforcement in their ongoing efforts to enhance safety in the region.
