Andrew Invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace Post-Conviction, Emails Reveal
Newly released emails indicate that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor invited Jeffrey Epstein to Buckingham Palace two years after Epstein’s conviction for sex crimes involving a minor. In September 2010, an email exchange from an address associated with Andrew, the former Duke of York, suggested a dinner invitation to Epstein, who had requested “private time.” Epstein had pleaded guilty in June 2008 to charges of soliciting prostitution from a minor and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
The emails, part of a larger release by the US Department of Justice, reveal the nature of Andrew’s communications with Epstein. The former prince has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. In an August 2010 email, Epstein mentioned a friend he thought Andrew would enjoy dining with, to which Andrew replied he would be “delighted” to meet her and requested Epstein provide her contact information.
On March 31, 2002, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in recruiting underage girls for Epstein, sent condolences to Andrew following the passing of the Queen Mother. In her message, she expressed sadness over the circumstances and reflected on her memories of the late royal, stating, “She was wonderful, and I am happy that I managed to meet her and speak with her.”
The correspondence, which also includes over three million pages of documents, highlights interactions between Andrew and notable figures linked to Epstein. One exchange indicates Maxwell supported Andrew’s intention to spend time with his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, and their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
In an email dated August 2002 from Andrew’s account, named “The Invisible Man,” he expressed a desire to join his family in Sotogrande, Spain, for a holiday, emphasizing the importance of spending time with his daughters. Maxwell replied, indicating she understood his choice and expressed disappointment at not being able to see him.
The emails also reveal Ferguson’s close relationship with Epstein. She referred to him as her “dear spectacular and special friend” and expressed gratitude for his support in a message from August 2009, where she called him “the brother I have always wished for.” Ferguson has not been accused of any wrongdoing related to Epstein.
Epstein died by suicide on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on federal charges for sex trafficking minors. The recent release of documents marks the conclusion of the Trump administration’s planned disclosures under federal law. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that the release includes extensive redactions to protect the identities of victims and ongoing investigations.
Despite the substantial number of documents released, Democratic Representative Ro Khanna criticized the Justice Department for not making all related files available to the public, suggesting that withholding information undermines public trust in governmental institutions.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s representatives have been approached for a comment regarding the latest revelations. As the investigation into Epstein’s extensive network continues, the implications of these communications remain of significant interest to the public and authorities alike.
