Arriva Hosts Recruitment Event for Bus Drivers in Queensferry
An information event aimed at individuals seeking careers as bus drivers will be held on March 15, 2024, in Queensferry. Organized by Careers Wales and the Working Wales service, in collaboration with Arriva Bus, this session will provide insights into job vacancies at Arriva’s depots in Wrexham and Chester.
Booking is essential, with only eight places available for each session via Eventbrite. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with an Arriva instructor, gaining valuable information on the various roles, training opportunities, and potential career progression within the bus driving industry.
During the event, participants can learn about current job openings and may even be considered for a follow-up interview. Additionally, staff from Careers Wales will be present to offer free employability support in one-on-one consultations, or to schedule follow-up appointments for further assistance. Notably, prior experience with large vehicles is not a requirement for prospective candidates, and there is no need for a DBS check. However, minimum qualifications must be met for the available roles.
Beth Dockrill, team manager at Careers Wales, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We’re delighted to partner with Arriva Bus to host this event in our Queensferry centre. It’s a fantastic opportunity to find out more about local jobs and get tailored careers support.”
Neil Atherton, a PCV instructor at Arriva, added, “At Arriva, we pride ourselves on teamwork and providing exceptional customer service, and I look forward to meeting people who share these values.”
Working Wales, funded by the Welsh Government, aims to deliver careers guidance and employability support to individuals aged 16 and above.
For more information about Working Wales and the support services available, individuals can visit the Working Wales website, call free on 0800 028 4844, engage with an adviser via webchat, or email [email protected].
This recruitment event represents a significant opportunity for those interested in pursuing a career as a bus driver and highlights Arriva’s commitment to fostering local employment in the transport sector.
