Vetter Achieves EcoVadis Platinum Rating and Validates Emissions Goals
Vetter, a prominent contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has achieved an EcoVadis Platinum rating for 2025, marking its fourth consecutive year of receiving this prestigious recognition. This accomplishment positions Vetter in the top 1% of companies evaluated globally by EcoVadis, underscoring its commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
In addition to this accolade, Vetter has secured formal validation of its greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company aims to achieve a 58.8% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2034, using 2021 as the baseline year. These targets align with the Paris Agreement and adhere to some of the most stringent international standards for corporate climate action.
Commitment to Climate Protection
Vetter’s ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint are reflected in both recognitions, which highlight the company’s strategic focus on climate protection. The planned emissions reductions will be accomplished through various initiatives, including the modernization of facilities and equipment, utilizing energy recovery methods such as waste heat, and transitioning to lower-carbon energy sources. This includes a significant move to replace natural gas with biomethane.
Henryk Badack, Managing Director of Vetter, expressed pride in the company’s achievements. “We are proud of the various steps we are taking to reduce our company’s carbon footprint. Both the validation by the SBTi and the Platinum rating from EcoVadis emphasize our strategic commitment to both people and planet and bring us one step closer to effective climate protection and to achieving overall sustainability goals,” he stated.
The EcoVadis rating and SBTi validation not only serve as external validations of Vetter’s sustainability strategies but also reinforce its position as a leader in the industry. By prioritizing environmental responsibility, Vetter aims to foster a culture of sustainability that resonates throughout its operations and beyond.
As climate change continues to pose significant challenges globally, Vetter’s proactive approach sets a benchmark for other organizations within the sector, demonstrating that ambitious emissions targets can align with business growth while contributing to a more sustainable future.
