North Wilkesboro Speedway Launches Ticket Sales for Test Session
North Wilkesboro Speedway is set to mark a significant milestone by hosting its first NASCAR Cup Series points race in three decades. This highly anticipated event will take place on July 19, 2026, and will be known as the Window World 450, reviving a venue that last held a points-paying race on September 29, 1996, when Jeff Gordon secured the final victory there.
As excitement builds for this historic return, track officials have initiated ticket sales for an upcoming test session, allowing fans to engage with the action in a unique way. The test session is designed to provide a preview of what spectators can expect during the race in July, giving them a chance to watch NASCAR Cup teams prepare their cars on the same track.
Ticket Sales and Promotions
Beginning immediately, fans can take advantage of a two-for-Tuesday ticket offer at the speedway box office. This promotion includes grandstand access to the NASCAR Cup Series test session, scheduled to run from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on January 13, 2024. Attendees on this date will receive free entry to the multi-team test session, allowing them to witness firsthand how teams develop their setups for the upcoming event.
Tickets for the race itself will officially go on sale at 12 p.m. ET on January 13, with options for weekend bundles, premium seating, and camping packages already available through the speedway’s official website. This early access not only provides a taste of the race day experience but also allows fans to settle into the grandstands and observe the intensity of the preparations.
What to Expect During the Test Session
During the test, fans will observe Cup drivers working with cars built around the 750-horsepower package, which is crucial for the mid-July race. Although this same package will also be utilized at other venues this season, its significance at North Wilkesboro resonates deeply with long-time fans, evoking memories of the track’s storied past.
Graig Hoffman, the Executive Director of North Wilkesboro Speedway, underscored the importance of this early opportunity. He described it as a chance for fans to enjoy a nostalgic experience while previewing the stars expected to compete in July. The test session aims to provide vital data for the teams while offering spectators a glimpse into the dynamics of race preparation.
In recent years, North Wilkesboro has reestablished its place in NASCAR by successfully hosting the last three All-Star Races, with the most recent event attracting significant attention due to a thrilling contest between Joey Logano and eventual winner Christopher Bell. The excitement generated by these events has led to increased calls for a return to points racing at the track, a request that NASCAR officials have fulfilled for the 2026 season.
As the countdown to the Window World 450 begins, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for further announcements regarding additional attractions, including plans for a pre-race concert. North Wilkesboro Speedway is poised to deliver an unforgettable experience as it welcomes NASCAR back to a venue with a rich legacy.
