Brooklyn Beckham Faces Sibling Rivalry as Cruz Shines in Music
Brooklyn Beckham is reportedly experiencing tension as his younger brother, Cruz Beckham, steps into the spotlight with a new music career. The unease became apparent this month after Cruz performed live, receiving significant public support from their parents, Victoria Beckham and David Beckham. Insiders have indicated that the spotlight on Cruz has reopened old wounds for Brooklyn, particularly as he watches from the United States while family celebrations unfold thousands of miles away.
The sibling rivalry within the Beckham family has intensified with Cruz’s music debut, where Victoria and David were prominently supportive. Brooklyn, who is currently living in the US with his wife, Nicola Peltz, has reportedly struggled with feelings of being sidelined. Sources claim he has been closely following Cruz’s success, hoping for a misstep.
Cruz, 20, performed recently with his band, The Breakers, during an intimate show. Victoria was notably emotional, reportedly shedding tears as she watched her son perform. In a heartfelt social media post, she said, “Wow!!! You look so happy, Cruz, and we couldn’t be prouder. We love you.” David echoed her sentiments, expressing pride in a video shared online, stating, “Family & friends night with Cruz, we’re so proud of you, mate, we love you and the journey that you are on.”
As Cruz basked in the accolades, Brooklyn, 26, felt increasingly isolated. The Globe has reported longstanding tensions between him and his family, which have worsened since Nicola declined Victoria’s offer to design her wedding dress in 2022. Sources indicate that Brooklyn has directed much of his frustration towards his siblings, feeling that they have been unsupportive and have exacerbated the situation.
One insider commented, “Brooklyn is on terrible terms with his brothers. He blames them for stirring things up behind his back and being just as mean towards Nicola as their mum and dad, if not worse.” This sentiment highlights the growing resentment Brooklyn feels, particularly as he perceives a lack of support from his family during his own career efforts.
The insider elaborated, “He’s trying not to be bitter, but the fact is they’re swooning all over Cruz right now while continuing to totally ice him out and act like he doesn’t exist.” Each public show of support for Cruz seems to deepen the divide, with Brooklyn feeling more alienated.
Despite this family turmoil, Brooklyn has been attempting to carve out his own identity as a celebrity chef. He shares regular updates on social media, including Instagram reels and hot sauce recipes. Yet, according to sources, the support he receives from his family feels limited. One source remarked, “It’s a real kick in the teeth, especially as he’s trying to establish himself as a celebrity chef in the States and working hard on Instagram reels and hot sauce recipes. Brooklyn could have really used more support from his folks, but instead, they’re focused on Cruz, Romeo, and Harper.”
The roots of this conflict are not new. According to insiders, perceptions of favouritism within the Beckham family have existed for years, even prior to tensions surrounding Nicola. “Actually, it’s been this way for years, even before the mess erupted with Nicola and made things ten times worse,” a source revealed. Brooklyn now reportedly sees the situation with greater clarity, feeling the sting of perceived preferential treatment towards Cruz.
The emotional toll of watching his brother receive public praise has contributed to Brooklyn’s complicated feelings. “It’s hard for Brooklyn to want his brother to succeed when Cruz is getting all this preferential treatment,” the insider concluded.
While the Beckham family continues to present a united front publicly, unresolved grievances and sibling rivalry simmer beneath the surface, shaping their relationships in a complex and evolving dynamic.
