Glasgow Central Mosque Marks Start of Ramadan with Timetable Release
Today, the Glasgow Central Mosque officially announced that Ramadan has commenced, marking an important time of fasting and reflection for Muslims worldwide. This declaration aligns with the adherence to the Saudi calendar, which is followed by many mosques in the region. As the holy month begins, the mosque has also shared specific timings for Suhoor and Iftar to assist the community in observing the fast.
Timings for Suhoor and Iftar
For the first day of Ramadan, the Suhoor, which is the pre-dawn meal, is scheduled to be served until 04:30 (local time). The meals provided during Suhoor aim to nourish participants for the day ahead. Following the fast, Iftar will take place at 18:45, marking the time when the fast is broken. These timings are crucial for the community, as they help ensure that all participants can adhere to the traditional practices of Ramadan.
The mosque’s announcement is a significant event for the local Muslim community, as Ramadan is a period of spiritual growth and community bonding. Many individuals come together for prayers and communal meals, fostering a sense of unity and support.
Community Engagement During Ramadan
In addition to meal timings, the Glasgow Central Mosque has planned various activities aimed at promoting community engagement throughout Ramadan. These include daily prayers, educational sessions, and charity initiatives. The mosque encourages participation from all community members, whether they are observing Ramadan or simply seeking to learn more about its significance.
Throughout the month, the mosque will also host special events designed to enhance the spiritual experience. These gatherings aim to deepen understanding and appreciation of the teachings of Islam while providing an opportunity for social interaction.
As the fasting period progresses, the mosque invites all members of the community to join in solidarity and support one another. The emphasis on charity during this month highlights the importance of helping those in need, fostering compassion and generosity.
The Glasgow Central Mosque serves as a central hub for the local Muslim population, providing essential resources and support during Ramadan. With its clear timetable and active engagement, the mosque is prepared to facilitate a meaningful and fulfilling experience for all participants.
