As the countdown to Super Bowl LX begins, footwear brands are ramping up their releases to coincide with the event. This week, notable drops include Lunar New Year-themed designs from CLOT and adidas, along with new offerings from New Balance, Nike, Salomon, and others. The footwear industry demonstrates no signs of slowing down as it prepares for a series of exciting launches.

In recent headlines, the sneaker community celebrated the best trends showcased during Paris Fashion Week. Nike introduced its new global ambassador, LISA, in the latest NikeSKIMS campaign. The brand also teased a collaboration with Supreme, featuring a trio of colorways for the SB-branded Air Max CB 94 Low. Furthermore, fans of the popular series “Stranger Things” can look forward to a thematic release of the Air Foamposite One along with several Converse sneakers.

The industry also saw a viral moment with LEGO and Crocs’ announcement of their partnership, highlighted by the vibrant LEGO Brick Clog. Several collaborations stood out at fashion week, including those by POST ARCHIVE FACTION x On CloudSoma and Kiko Kostadinov x Crocs. Additionally, singer SZA made headlines by wearing custom “VanSZA” sneakers crafted by jeweler Rachel Goatley.

Upcoming Footwear Releases

Looking ahead, several noteworthy footwear releases are scheduled for this week. The New Balance ABZORB 2010, available on January 28 for $160 USD, showcases a progressive design with a faded black and dark silver metallic colorway. This sneaker features ABZORB cushioning and a translucent TPU stability web shank, ensuring comfort and stability.

On January 29, the collaboration between gnuhr and norda will yield two unique footwear options priced between $145 USD and $295 USD. The co-branded 002 is hailed as the “world’s most responsive trail running shoe,” while the 008 offers a bold recovery slide in sky blue.

Also debuting on January 29 is the Nike ACG Ultrafly Trail in “Total Orange,” priced at $260 USD. This trail-ready running shoe combines ZoomX foam and a carbon plate for a smooth ride, along with a durable Vibram Megagrip outsole.

New Balance will also release its “Cool Skies” pack on the same day, with prices ranging from $110 USD to $160 USD. The collection features a fresh palette of light blue, white, and gum across various models, including the FuelCell Rebel v5.

Special Lunar New Year Releases

On January 31, several brands will celebrate the Lunar New Year with special releases. The CLOT x adidas Superstar Dress Shoe and Qi Flow will feature a design inspired by the Year of the Horse, combining cowhide horse print with leather construction. Release details, including pricing, are still to be confirmed.

Nike will also honor the Lunar New Year with a retro release of the Kobe 8 Protro “Year of the Horse,” priced at $200 USD. This version recalls the vibrant colorway from the original 2014 launch, featuring a red upper with gold accents.

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG will see the return of the “Medium Olive” colorway on January 31 for $145 USD. This release offers a more accessible option compared to earlier limited collaborations.

New Balance’s AC Runner will debut in a bold “Tangerine Heat” colorway on February 1, priced at $150 USD. Designed for everyday use, this new silhouette features a bright orange upper complemented by black detailing.

The upcoming week promises to be an exciting time for sneaker enthusiasts, with numerous fresh designs highlighting creativity and cultural themes. These releases not only celebrate athletic performance but also reflect the fusion of artistry and tradition in footwear design.
