Fitness Challenge Sparks Motivation at Bannatyne Clubs Nationwide
Members at the Bannatyne health club in Meole Brace, located on Oteley Road, are participating in a nationwide fitness challenge designed to foster engagement and motivation during the often challenging month of January. Running from January 19 to January 30, 2026, the “Make Your MOVE” challenge involves 67 clubs across the country, competing to accumulate the highest number of Technogym MOVE’s, a universal measure of physical activity derived from cardio workouts.
Participants can track their progress by logging into cardio equipment using the Bannatyne smartphone app. Each workout completed contributes to the club’s overall MOVE total. The club that achieves the highest number of MOVE’s by the end of the challenge will receive a trophy and earn the prestigious title of the group’s first challenge champions of 2026.
Clare Mackie, Fitness Coordinator at the Bannatyne Group, emphasized the importance of this initiative in maintaining member motivation. “January is often when people are working hard to keep routines going,” she noted. “This challenge is all about encouraging people to stay active, keep momentum, and recognize that every workout they do has value.”
The challenge is inclusive, welcoming members and staff of all fitness levels and abilities. Participants can join at any time during the two-week period, making it accessible to everyone. MOVE’s are calculated based on effort and intensity rather than previous experience or fitness level, further broadening participation.
As the challenge unfolds, clubs across the country are gearing up to rally their members. With camaraderie and competition at the forefront, the Bannatyne Group aims to foster a community spirit while encouraging regular physical activity. The initiative not only supports individual fitness journeys but also promotes a collective goal that unites members in their pursuit of health and wellness.
